The Laramie has a swept back cheek and a tear drop loop at the rein, which provides a very forgiving and slower pull. The shank’s features give a pre-signal for the horse when they feel the rein slide. This keeps the rider from having to engage as directly. The chicken choker is a more aggressive mouthpiece that focuses on the pallet of the horse’s mouth.
